What is life?
I’ve tried to find an answer
worthy of this question
of this concept
Life

Is it an experiment
that we are all forced
to participate in?
Some cruel way to measure
the limits of the mind
under the pressure of the pain
and humiliation,
loneliness and despair,
lost hopes and shattered dreams
that come with the term
Life

Is it a way for some other
higher being
to understand how we handle
the agony
and pain
us lesser beings
are forced to endure
time and time again?
A way to watch us break
under the weight of trials
created and magnified
by ourselves until all thats left
is the empty shell that used to hold
Life

Is it the forest of thorns and teeth
we must pass through
in order to get to the one place
that unifies us all
Death?

Is life any of these?
Or it is something else?

Is it the solemn sound
that uplifts our spirit
and sends us to heights
we never dreamed possible
so that we can look back
and say we enjoyed this thing called
Life

Is it the manifestation
of our deepest
dreams and desires
that have awakened to grant us
pure joy and happiness
until the end of
Life

Is it the chance
given to us by God to
become glorious
in our own right
and to have it
known by all
appreciated by all
and envied by none
so that we can all share together
in our glorious, shining, happiness called
Life

Might any of these be it?
Or maybe, something else still?

Is it the road
that can take you to wonderful places
as long as you’re willing
to take advantage of it?
The road that may lead you
through scorching deserts
and frozen tundras
while allowing you to pass
those on the way
who would  one day call you friend.
The road that has its ups and its downs
and will only ever take you
where you tell it to go?

What is life?
I don't have the answer
but why does it matter?
In life you are given happiness
so be happy
you are given fun
so have fun
Sure life may not always
be on your side
but, in life, you have friends
that can help you through it
and thats what I call
Life
